Economy and Efficiency in Government
As State Treasurer, Don will emphasize the need for economy and efficiency in government.
As Attorney General, Don used his Harvard Business School education to provide economy and efficiency in government. He operated on the third smallest Attorney General budget in the United States.
During his 12 years as Attorney General, case loads increased dramatically:
- Inmate lawsuits nearly doubled.
- Criminal appeals increased 50 percent.
- Health professional cases more than doubled.
- Consumer complaints more than tripled.
Under Don’s leadership, all of that massive caseload increase was handled with an average attorney staff increase of less than 1 percent per year.
